Our choirs are on break, but there is still plenty happening at GCC through the summer.  Here are a few summer tidbits for you:


Summer Music

Each summer, our sanctuary is filled with the music of volunteer musicians singing and playing solos and small ensembles.  Thank you to:

Summer Performances – 75th Anniversary

Sun, Jul 3: Glenview Concert Band performance, 2 p.m.

A free, old-fashioned band concert on the Church’s south lawn featuring patriotic selections, show tunes, and standards, with lemonade and cookies [Bring lawn chairs or blankets, if possible] ~ Supported by the Men’s Ministry

Sun, Jul 10, and Mon, Jul 11: Staged reading of Our Town, by Thornton Wilder, 7 p.m.

An all-GCC, intergenerational cast interpreting the popular, most-produced American play —a celebration of the human spirit played out before our eyes on a quiet evening in July, with a bit of organ music thrown in for good measure ~ Supported by the Music Board and the Membership Board

Thanks to the Nutting Fund

We purchased 3 new bell tables to replace old ones and add “real estate” to our bass section.



Music Board to Serve at “A Just Harvest”

On August 7, members of our Music Board will serve a meal at “A Just Harvest” followed by a meal of their own at Gary’s home.  Thanks to all who are willing to participate in this meaningful outreach!
